The Recorder - “After Years of Work, Unity Park in Fort Plain is Open” (2020)
UNITY PARK is a new initiative of the Mohawk Valley Collective. Unity Park engages the community of Fort Plain, NY to participate in the design and construction of an outdoor communal space. The park will include a community garden, a free-exchange library and pavilion for outdoor concerts and film screenings.
Through social media outreach and encouraged collaboration, Unity Park is being built in phases through action weekends where experienced Fort Plain citizens share their skills with others who come out to volunteer, socialize, or just want to say what’s up.
The park will extend programming outward from the adjacent cultural center, Unity Hall
